Biographical Note

Ona Waller Leslie was born in Warren, Arkansas, on March 17, 1891, the daughter of Richard Carter and Julia Pierce Waller. She was a graduate of the Presbyterian Training School in Warren, receiving a diploma in 1910. A resident of Pine Bluff for over forty years, she was a long time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Pine Bluff and a circle chairman of the Women of the Church. She was also a Board Member of the Pine Bluff Federation of Women's Clubs. In 1911, she married James Lester Leslie and had three sons. They divorced in 1941. Ona Waller Leslie died on April 2, 1984 at the age of 93. She was buried in her native city of Warren.
