Biographical Note

The Arkansas Pioneers Association was founded in 1911, at Little Rock, Arkansas, by Mrs. Harriett Woodruff Jabine, daughter of William E. Woodruff, who was the founder of the Arkansas Gazette at Arkansas Post. The purpose of the Association is primarily to gather, preserve, and publish data on the history of Arkansas prior to 1850. Special attention is given to Arkansans whose influence, work, and persistence built Arkansas during its early years.
