Scope and Content
This collection contains correspondence, news clippings, wills, and other materials related to bequests to the Home for Blind Women (later called the Industrial Home for Blind Women and now the Trebing Memorial Home for Blind Women) in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The Home for Blind Women (later called the Industrial Home for Blind Women and now the Trebing Memorial Home for Blind Women) was established in 1930. The original Board of Trustees was comprised of 14 women who contributed one hundred dollars in cash or equipment to establish the home. The board members served until they resigned or died and the position was then assigned to a female relative. The women who lived at the home had to be capable of cleaning their rooms and caring for themselves. Rather than an institution, the organization served as a type of boarding house for blind women.
