This collection consists of a letter written by William H. H. Grimes while serving with the 50th Indiana Infantry at Little Rock, Arkansas.


Biographical Note

William H. H. Grimes lived in Salem, in Washington County, Indiana. He enlisted in Company A of the 50th Indiana Volunteer Infantry in October 1861. He re-enlisted in March 1864, and later was transferred to the 52nd Indiana Infantry. He mustered out with that unit on September 10, 1865.
