This collection consists of one letter written by James L. Robberson while he served with the 24th Missouri Infantry.


Biographical Note

James L. Robberson was born in 1840, in Greene County, Arkansas, the son of Allen and Mary Robberson. He enlisted on August 5, 1861, and was chosen a second lieutenant in Company A of the 24th Missouri Infantry. He was given command of the company in August 1862, and served through October 14, 1864. He returned to Missouri after the war and studied medicine, practicing first in Lawrence County, Missouri, and then in Yuma County, Arizona. He died in Arizona, in 1889.
