Biographical Note

Democrat Printing and Lithographing Company, formed in 1871 as the printing division of the Arkansas Democrat, formed as a separate company in 1906, and was purchased by the Parke-Harper Printing Company in 1937. The two companies merged in 1938, under the old name. Frank Herbert (Bert) Parke Jr., whose father was a partner in the Parke-Harper Printing Company, remains today as chairman of the board of the company. His son and grandson are also active in the company, which has grown to serve printing needs on a national scale.
