This collection consists of a letter written by William W. DeMoss while he served with the 46th Ohio Volunteer Infantry.


Biographical Note

William DeMoss was born in Ohio, in 1839. He enlisted as a corporal in Company K of the 46th Ohio Infantry on November 18, 1861. He was promoted to first lieutenant before the end of the war, and was mustered out on July 22, 1865, at Louisville, Kentucky. He returned to Ohio, and was married in 1866. He died February 12, 1913, in Auglaize County, Ohio.
