Biographical Note

Preston Bishop was born 1838, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and served in the Civil War with the United States Navy. He enlisted on May 16, 1861, and served on USS Carondelet as a surgeon's assistant before transferring to USS Louisville in the same capacity. He was discharged on May 22, 1864. He died September 1886, in New Jersey.
