Scope and Content Note
This collection contains sheet music for songs written or performed by Arkansas musicians. Included are multiple copies of traditional songs such as "Arkansas Traveler," "Arkansas" (state song), and popular music performed by twentieth century musicians such as Johnny Cash, Patsy Montana, Glen Campbell, and Elmer Mikel (including a work Mikel wrote about the Greenwood tornado of 1968). Also included are drafts of music by composer Mark A. Kenney and "The Proclamation," written in 1863 by a Confederate soldier concerning the Emancipation Proclamation.
