The Young Men's Building Association Records consists a parchment copy book containing copies of correspondence and a ledger book containing a register of stock transfers for the organization.


Historical Information

The Young Men's Building Association was a building, loan, and savings association operating in Little Rock during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The company was incorporated in 1884 and was listed in the Little Rock city directory and telephone book as late as May 1938. It's first listed address was at 200 West Markham, and later 200 West 2nd Street. From 1893 through at least 1901, officers for the association were listed as: G. W. Clark, president; W. F. Hill, vice-president; W. C. Tunnah, secretary; W. B. Worthen, treasurer; and G .L. Basham, attorney.
