Historical Information

The Arkansas Women's Action Fund was formed on May 9, 1992, in Little Rock, Arkansas. According to the by-laws, the purpose of the fund was to "foster, promote and support the election and appointment of qualified, progressive women to public office in Arkansas and, in addition, to support other candidates for state and local office and issues of interest to members of The Fund."

The organization was governed by a six-member board of directors who served two-year terms. The PAC was active through the end of 2001, citing changes in the laws governing the reporting requirements for political action committees as the reason for dissolution.
