Scope and Contents
This collection contains photographs, correspondence, and other materials related primarily to Joseph Clement's military service during World War II, including scrapbooks and photograph albums. It also contains some materials related to Clement's post-military life.
Joseph B. Clements, born ca. 1918, was the third child of Charles A. and Nellie May Clements.
Clements enlisted in the Army Air Corps on May 19, 1941, while he was living in Wausau, Wisconsin. He was stationed in Hawaii and on Canton Island in the south Pacific.
After the war, Clements worked for a time as a taxi driver and later as a truck driver. Clements was active in the Masons, and his wife Reba Mae was active in the Order of the Eastern Star in Little Rock. He also enjoyed bowling and writing poetry--especially acrostics.
