Scope and Contents

This collection contains information and mementos of the Thibault family of Little Rock, featuring several published short stories written by David Thibault. Family tree records illustrate the relationships of the various families represented in the collection, which includes a scrapbook of the debutante appearances of Myra Thompson (later Thibault) and her sister May, photographs of Sarah Elizabeth "Betty" Chamberlin, and other family remembrances.

Biographical Information

The Thibault family arrived in the Little Rock area shortly after Arkansas became a state and has intermarried with several other prominent Arkansas families, including the Gibson family, the Keatts family, and the Thompson family. Carroll Thibaut (1884-1970) was a prominent Little Rock businessman, and his brother David Thibault (1892-1933) achieved national fame as a writer. The Thibaults and their relatives were a large part of the social life of central Arkansas in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
