Scope and Contents

This collection contains photocopies and transcripts of letters written by Lee Minor, primarily to his wife while he was stationed at Camp Pike, Arkansas, during World War I.

Transcripts are attached to the handwritten letters. These transcripts may not accurately reflect the spelling and information in the original letters.


Biographical Information

Lee Curtis Minor was born on October 14, 1895, to James and Hannah Minor in Pike County, Arkansas. He was the youngest of five children. Minor married Adie Wright on April 19, 1918, and the couple had two children, Curtis and Cleatis Minor.

He registered for the draft when he was twenty-two and trained at Camp Pike in Pulaski County, Arkansas, as part of Company G, 347th Infantry.

Minor died on January 9, 1941, in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and is buried in the Macedonia Cemetery in Pulaski County.
