Biographical Information

John Edward Garrich Jr. was born on February 16, 1929, in Slovak, Arkansas, and was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950 at the age of twenty-one. He served in the Korean War as a battalion motor sergeant in the 38th Field Artillery Battalion and participated in the battles of Heartbreak Ridge and Old Baldy. Garrich passed away on April 20, 2009.
