Biographical Information

George Gordon Worthen was born May 24, 1942, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and came from a long line of prominent bankers. He received a degree in Economics and Business Administration from Davidson College in North Carolina. He later earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Worthen was also a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University and the National Commercial Lending Graduate School at the University of Oklahoma. After spending time in the military, he made his home in Little Rock. Earlier in his career, Worthen was an executive officer of one the largest banks in the state, but later focused on community banking. He worked at the Bank of Little Rock until shortly before his death.

He died on June 9, 2013, and is buried at Mount Holly Cemetery in Little Rock.
