Biographical Information

Betty Rosalea Wassell was born December 18, 1927, in Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the daughter of Herbert Lynn and Ethel Rosalea Newman Wassell. She was a member of the Debutante Club of 1947-1948 and served as treasurer.

During the debutante season, girls were feted with rounds of social activities including receptions, teas, and dances. Betty was presented to society at a formal tea on December 20, and the Presentation Ball on December 22, 1947, at the Marion Hotel, Little Rock.

After the club ceased functioning, debutantes were sponsored by the local country clubs.

Betty Rosalea Wassell graduated from Bennett Junior College in Millbrook, New York. She married John Clyde Hill and they had two children, John and Lynne. Betty died August 27, 2008, in Portola Valley, California.
