This college commencement book contains information about Beulah Denison's graduation from Central Baptist College in Conway, Arkansas, in 1911 and includes information for the time period 1908-1911.


Biographical Information

Beulah Ellen Denison was born in Izard County, Arkansas, on January 31, 1888. She graduated from Central Baptist College in 1911 and married Martin Josiah McHenry the same year. The couple had four children: Paul, Gordon, Nannie, and Winnie. Beulah taught art at both Central Baptist College and Hendrix College. She died in Conway on June 9, 1978.

Central Baptist College was established in Conway, Arkansas, in 1892 as an educational institution for women, focusing on efficiency in the home, church, business, and society. The original Central Baptist College closed in 1947, but was opened again in 1952 as Conway Baptist College and is now a co-educational institution. The original name of the college was restored in 1962.
